The Heath
Golf has been played on the Heath since 1880. The club was founded in 1930 and it remains one of only a handful of courses formed over open heath lands. The course incorporates three natural lakes and is noted for it's rough heather and gorse furze - challenging indeed!

The present course was laid in the middle of the 20th century, but the last ten years have seen significant developments, including the installation of automated irrigation and a ten bay driving range. The Heath Golf Club is noted for it's hospitality and the friendliness of it's members, while providing modern facilities - all making it well worth a visit.

Abbeyleix Golf Course, Co. Laois was founded in 1895. The course is situated in Rathmoyle which is very much an integral part of the heritage town of Abbeyleix. It is one of the finest parkland courses in the country, and it's lovely fairways criss-cross through a delightful combination of mature trees and spinneys encircling the ancient pre-Christian Rath of Rathmoyle.

The course is a challenging but fair test of any golfer's ability. The panoramic views stretch across the broad expanse of the county's central lowlands with the beautiful Slieve Bloom Mountains to the west.
